At the Kolleg it is time for a two week digital spring break. To those of you who celebrate we wish happy #Passover and happy #Easter. And we hope that you all simply enjoy these first days of spring - amidst all the challenges and difficulties of the ongoing pandemic. Stay safe and well! 🌞🌼😷
Spring in progress 🔅
These are the more quiet weeks of the year at the Lichtenberg-Kolleg. We are all deep into our research and are writing our books, articles and papers. But here comes a friendly little digital hello!

Rembrandt

Welcome to the preview of our upcoming Rembrandt exhibition.

Due to the pandemic it had to be postponed several times. The opening is now scheduled for Thursday 23 September 2021. We will show 34 prints from the Kunstsammlung of the University of Göttingen. The exhibition is a fascinating encounter of the old master & new digital technologies.

The selection of prints was made by permanent fellow Ivan Gaskell, professor of cultural history at Bard Graduate Center & intellectual historian Martin van Gelderen, director of the Kolleg.

The catalogue is in production. Catalogue entries were written, amongst others, by ten talented Göttingen students who participated to the MA-seminar on Rembrandt, taught by Martin during the WS 2019/2020.
